If you’ve spent any time along 30A, you already know the beaches are spectacular. But the best desserts on 30A deserve just as much attention — and after years of living close enough to have strong opinion. I’ve lived close enough to 30A for almost 25 years to know which spots are the real deal and which ones are riding the tourist wave, and I can say with full confidence: the sweets here are no joke.
From hand-scooped ice cream in Blue Mountain Beach to chocolate fondue in Rosemary Beach, legendary bread pudding in Grayton Beach, and beignets dusted with powdered sugar just off Highway 98, 30A serves up something delicious no matter where you find yourself along the way. Here’s where to go when the sweet tooth strikes.

Blue Mountain Beach
Blue Mountain Beach Creamery
This is one of those places that earns its reputation the old-fashioned way — with really, really good ice cream. Blue Mountain Beach Creamery handcrafts their ice cream, sorbet, and frozen yogurt in flavors that go well beyond the usual suspects. Grab a cone, find a shady spot, and take your time with it. That’s the Blue Mountain Beach way. Cash only — plan ahead!
Pecan Jacks
Pecan Jacks is the kind of place you walk into for one thing and leave with five. Yes, the homemade pralines are worth every calorie. But it’s the boozy ice cream flavors — think Bourbon Pecan Praline and Grandma’s Banana Pudding — that keep people coming back. There’s a second location in Seagrove if you’re further down the road.
Grayton Beach
Black Bear Bread Co.
Most people discover Black Bear Bread Co. on their morning coffee run and end up coming back every day for the rest of their trip. And honestly, fair. The artisan pastries here — buttery kouign amann, flaky croissants, rotating seasonal offerings — are as good as anything you’d find at a serious city bakery. Grab something for the beach or settle in at the cafe. Locations in both Grayton Beach and Seaside.
The Red Bar
The Red Bar is primarily a dinner destination — and a legendary one at that — but the desserts here are worth calling out on their own. The bread pudding is moist and caramel-topped with a soft center, served with ice cream. The apple dumpling, a whole apple baked in pastry with caramel glaze, vanilla ice cream, and a chocolate drizzle, is the kind of thing you think about for weeks afterward. It’s worth the wait.
Seaside
Dawson’s Yogurt & Fudge
This is a piece of 30A history. Dawson’s has been scooping frozen yogurt and homemade fudge in the heart of Seaside since July 4th, 1988 — and it’s believed to hold the longest record for a yogurt shop still operating in its original location in the entire country. Recently renovated with a fresh new look and a specialty shake bar (try the S’mores or Berries & Cream), it’s earned every bit of its iconic status.
Frost Bites
The little shaved ice trailer that has become a full-blown Seaside institution. Frost Bites has been serving up impossibly colorful snow cones from its Airstream on Airstream Row for years, and it never gets old. The ice is finely shaved — not the crunchy, chunky kind — so it soaks up the flavor all the way through. Get the lime in the coconut and thank me later.
It’s Heavenly Shortcakes & Ice Cream
The name is a little dramatic, but honestly? Not wrong. Tucked into the heart of Seaside, It’s Heavenly is known for their classic strawberry shortcake — freshly baked, layered with juicy strawberries, and finished with a generous cloud of whipped cream. The ice cream is excellent too, but the shortcake is the move.
Modica Market
Most people know Modica as the beloved gourmet market in the center of Seaside, but if you walk past the cheese and olive oil and head straight for the bakery counter, you’ll find some of the most indulgent desserts on this entire stretch of road. The chocolate cake is serious business. Pick up a slice and don’t share it.
Nigel’s Bananas
Simple, fun, and genuinely delicious — Nigel’s takes frozen bananas and turns them into something you didn’t know you needed. Dipped in Belgian chocolate and loaded with toppings, they hit that sweet spot between treat and something your body can almost justify. A second location is tucked into Watersound Town Center if you’re heading that direction.
Rosemary Beach
Kilwins
Walk past Kilwins and try not to stop. I dare you. The smell of fresh waffle cones and warm caramel drifting out onto the street is practically its own attraction. Inside you’ll find handcrafted fudge, rich creamy ice cream, and caramel apples that are basically works of art. Classic, consistent, and always worth it.
La Crema Tapas & Chocolate
This is the one you bring someone to impress. La Crema is a Spanish-inspired tapas and chocolate bar — and yes, that combination is as good as it sounds. Order the chocolate fondue, the churros, or the thick sipping chocolate and settle in. It’s indulgent in the best possible way and one of the most unique dessert experiences on all of 30A. Perfect for a date night or a slow afternoon when you have nowhere to be.
The Sugar Shak
A full-on candy lover’s paradise, The Sugar Shak is packed floor to ceiling with nostalgic sweets, hand-scooped ice cream, and enough colorful options to send any kid (or sugar-loving adult) into a happy spiral. It’s pure fun in there — pick your favorites, build your own candy bag, and don’t overthink it.
Watersound Town Center
Sweet Henrietta’s
Sweet Henrietta’s is the spot when you want something a little more refined — beautiful cakes, cupcakes, and baked goods that look as good as they taste. Whether you’re celebrating something or just need a really good slice of cake on a Tuesday, they deliver. Custom orders available with 48 hours notice.
Santa Rosa Beach (Highway 98)
Beignets & Brew
New Orleans has no monopoly on beignets, and Beignets & Brew is living proof. Hot, pillowy, absolutely drowning in powdered sugar — these are the real thing. Pair them with a coffee and you’ve got yourself a perfect morning or a late-night treat that makes the drive out to Highway 98 entirely worth it. Two locations in Santa Rosa Beach — one on 30A and one on Hwy 98.
The Bottom Line
30A has a lot going for it — the beaches, the towns, the sunsets. But the dessert scene along this stretch is genuinely something special. These aren’t tourist trap ice cream stands (well, most of them aren’t) — they’re spots that locals and regulars keep coming back to, season after season. Whether you’re doing a full sweet tour or just ducking in somewhere between beach and dinner, you’ll find your thing here.
