While Destin and 30A often steal the spotlight, Miramar Beach has quietly built one of the best dining scenes on the Emerald Coast. I’ve called this stretch of coast home for almost 25 years, and these are the spots my husband and I keep going back to — the ones I recommend without hesitation whenever friends ask where to eat. From beachfront seafood shacks and neighborhood favorites to date-night restaurants worth dressing up for, you’ll find something for every occasion, often without the crowds of its more famous neighbors. Here’s my breakdown of where to eat dinner in Miramar Beach, sorted by what kind of night you’re after.

Family-Friendly & Local Favorites
Sometimes the best meals come without the white tablecloths. These neighborhood favorites are places locals return to again and again for consistently great food and a laid-back atmosphere.
Evie Mae’s BBQ
Texas-style, cut-to-order barbecue with a gluten-free scratch kitchen — brisket, smoked turkey, all the sides. Order-at-the-counter casual, which makes it an easy, low-stress dinner with kids in tow. As someone who grew up in Texas, I don’t say this lightly: this is the real deal. I love the beef brisket (get it sliced — you won’t regret it), the sides are great, and the desserts are hands-down the BEST, so save room.
And I’m not the only one who thinks so: Evie Mae’s was just named a recommended restaurant in the 2026 MICHELIN Guide. The inspectors called out the green chile cheese sausage and the pepper-crusted smoked turkey, so add those to your order, too. Go now, before everyone else finds out.
Aegean
Family-owned Greek and Mediterranean since 2007, with a loyal local following for good reason — chicken souvlaki, fresh gyros, and generous Greek platters. Casual, welcoming, and easy to please a whole table. Honestly, we love everything there — you really can’t go wrong. They also have a fantastic breakfast, so keep this one in your back pocket for the morning, too!
Buffalo Jack’s Legendary Wings & Pizza
Wings, hand-tossed pizza, burgers, and beer in frozen mugs — a sports-bar vibe that’s easygoing and fun for a casual night with the crew (or the kids). This is a place we go on repeat during football season!
Acme Oyster House
Sometimes you just need a dozen chargrilled oysters, and Acme Oyster House always delivers. This New Orleans import at Seascape has made a name for itself with bold, flavorful Gulf Coast cooking, and I love it — especially the chargrilled oysters, which are some of the best you’ll find around here. Add a cup of gumbo or a shrimp po’boy, and you’ve got an easy dinner that makes everyone at the table happy. It’s lively, casual, and always a fun time.
Waterfront / Sunset
There’s something special about dinner with a Gulf breeze and a front-row seat to one of the Emerald Coast’s famous sunsets. These waterfront spots pair great views with equally memorable meals.
Pompano Joe’s
One of the most iconic beachfront spots in Miramar Beach — literally steps from the sand, with a colorful, Caribbean-leaning menu and unbeatable sunset views. Pompano Joe’s has been a favorite of ours for decades — it’s where my grandparents used to take me, and it still feels like a little piece of home every time we sit down by the water. The coconut shrimp and jerk chicken are my favorites. Get there early or book ahead in season.
Surf Hut
Beachfront, casual, and genuinely kid-friendly — a real kids’ menu (served on souvenir frisbees), a sand play area, and cornhole while you wait. Nobody’s stressed about a little noise here. Surf Hut is where we always take guests — it has the best views, hands down. My weakness is the fried Gulf shrimp platter (maybe not the healthiest, but so worth it), and a frozen drink with that view makes it feel like vacation even when you live here.
Hidden Gems
Some of the area’s best restaurants don’t have the biggest signs or the longest waitlists. These under-the-radar favorites are the kind of places locals love sharing with friends in the know.
Sushimoto
A tiny, easy-to-miss strip-mall spot that often gets called a true hidden gem — family-owned, fusion-leaning sushi with a devoted local following. I can’t get enough of this place. Owner and chef Andy is fantastic and truly the heart of it all, checking on every table like you’re family and making sure your visit feels personal, not transactional. It’s the kind of place that makes you feel like a regular, even on your first visit. It’s a small space with no reservations (first-come, first-served, and closed Sundays and Mondays), but it’s worth the wait — and worth going back for the hospitality as much as the sushi.
Fat Clemenza’s
Old-world Italian done right — brick oven pizza, made-from-scratch pasta, and an atmosphere that feels like stepping into someone’s family kitchen. Over 20 years in Miramar Beach and still a go-to for a romantic night or a celebration. I love the Margherita, but the lasagna and eggplant parmesan are top-tier too. Order a glass of wine, linger a little, and pretend you’re in a little café in Italy. It’s the kind of cozy spot that turns an ordinary weeknight into something that feels like a celebration.
Fine Dining / Special Occasion
Whether you’re celebrating an anniversary, planning date night, or simply want an elevated dining experience, these restaurants offer exceptional food, attentive service, and an atmosphere that’s worth dressing up for.
Bosforo Seafood & Steaks
Tucked into a stretch of Emerald Coast Pkwy, Bosforo blends Mediterranean flavors with steakhouse execution — think hand-cut steaks, fresh Gulf seafood, and homemade pasta and bread in a cozy, romantic space. It flies under the radar compared to the bigger names nearby, which is exactly what makes it such a great pick for a quieter date night. When you want a grown-up dinner, a great steak, and a conversation you can actually hear, this is where I’d point you.
Commelfo
European-coastal elegance on Emerald Coast Pkwy — think lobster ravioli, filet, and a 24k gold cheesecake for the occasion-worthy finish. Dress up a little; this is date-night territory, and the kind of place I love saving for anniversaries and birthdays. It’s also one of my favorite breakfast spots in town, so don’t be surprised if you find yourself back the next morning.
