Dewey Destin’s Seafood Restaurant
When you think “classic Destin seafood,” Dewey Destin’s instantly comes to mind. This family-run spot is about as authentic as it gets — casual, no-frills, and delicious. Whether you sit dockside or grab a plate to go, the shrimp baskets and grilled fish dinners never disappoint. It’s laid-back, local, and exactly what a beach town dinner should feel like.
Camille’s at Crystal Beach
Tucked away in Crystal Beach, Camille’s is a true Destin gem. It’s one of those places locals love to keep a little bit secret. Start with sushi and end with a fresh catch entrée — all while enjoying a cozy, relaxed vibe just steps from the Gulf. Camille’s manages to feel both upscale and totally laid-back, which is part of what makes it such a special dinner spot.
Louisiana Lagniappe
Louisiana Lagniappe is the move if you’re looking for a little Southern flair with your seafood. Tucked away inside Sandpiper Cove, this spot offers waterfront dining with a New Orleans twist. Think fresh Gulf seafood with a side of Creole flavor — and don’t miss the shrimp and grits. It’s a little more upscale but still perfectly relaxed for beach life.
Beach Walk Café
Want to turn dinner into an experience? Beach Walk Café delivers a romantic, fine-dining atmosphere right on the beach. (Yes, literally on the beach.) It’s ideal for a special night out — the view at sunset is unbeatable, and the menu, featuring dishes like lobster and filet mignon, is just as impressive.
Harbor Docks
A Destin institution since the 1970s, Harbor Docks is a casual spot with seriously good food. Known for sourcing their seafood fresh (like “off their own boats” fresh), it’s a great place to taste the best of the Gulf. From sushi to seafood platters, there’s something for everyone here, and the harbor views are a bonus. This is my favorite place to take guests when visiting our area for the first time.
Bitterroot
Newer to the scene but continuing to make waves, Bitterroot offers a cool, modern take on dinner in Destin. It’s cozy and rustic, with a menu focused on quality ingredients and creative Southern dishes. This is your spot if you want something different from the usual seafood-heavy menus. It’s the perfect spot for a date night! I don’t think you could go wrong with anything on the menu tbh.
Red Onion Organic
For a lighter, fresher take on dinner, Red Onion Organic is a hidden gem. Perfect for vegetarians, vegans, or anyone just craving a wholesome meal, their menu is packed with fresh flavors and organic ingredients. (And don’t worry — there are still plenty of hearty options if you’re extra hungry after a beach day.) Their portions are very generous so either come with a big appetite or it’s a perfect place to share a meal with someone!
The Harbor Tavern
Harbor Tavern has that “come as you are” vibe that makes you feel instantly welcome. It’s an easygoing place with great views, cold drinks, and comfort food done right. Grab a burger, try their fish tacos, and soak in the harbor atmosphere. It’s the kind of spot where dinner could easily roll into an evening of live music and good times.
The Back Porch
This one’s personal — The Back Porch holds a special place in my heart. Growing up, this was a must-visit every beach trip with my grandparents. And honestly? It still lives up to the memories—casual, classic seafood with a killer beachfront view. Go for the chargrilled Mahi Mahi sandwich and a frozen drink, and toast to the beach days that keep calling us back.
Burrito del Sol
Sometimes you just want something fresh, fast, and packed with flavor — and that’s exactly what Burrito del Sol delivers. This casual Mexican-inspired spot serves up build-your-own burritos, tacos, and bowls with a ton of fresh toppings and house-made sauces. Perfect for a low-key dinner that doesn’t sacrifice flavor.
